For building projects in Queensland, it’s essential to ensure that each stage is fully completed before moving to the next. Not only is this best practice—it’s also a legal requirement.

Under Section 49 of the Building Regulation 2021 (QLD), work cannot proceed to the next stage until the certifier has issued the Form 16 stage certificate. Failure to comply can result in penalties from the QBCC.
