In Queensland, there are strict requirements for the design and construction of balustrades and railings.

Where a balustrade contains a glazed element, you may need:

• a design certificate from an engineer for all aspects including fixings; and
• an inspection certificate from an engineer or a relevant QBCC licensee; and
• a glazing certificate
