The energy efficiency requirements of the 2019 BCA came into effect on 1 May 2020 to all states except Queensland.
A new requirement is to seal doors that are located between a conditioned space in a dwelling and a non-conditioned space (BCA Part 3.12.3.3).
Typically this means the door between the dwelling and the garage needs sealing.
Sealing is to be done using a draft protection device along the bottom edge of the door and a foam/rubber strip, fibrous seal or the like along the door’s other edge.
