The Commonwealth Government, through NatHERS, will soon be introducing a new universal certificate for energy efficiency software ratings undertaken for dwellings. The certificate will identify whether the person undertaking the assessment is either accredited with an Assessor Accrediting Organisation (AAO) or non-accredited. While accreditation is not yet mandatory in Queensland, the State Government has recommended Certifiers give preference to certificates prepared by accredited persons, or otherwise satisfy themselves about the competency of a non-accredited person.
