The 2014 Sunshine Coast Planning Scheme includes a new secondary dwelling definition allowing for a gross floor area of up to 60 m2, which replaces the former provisions of up to 45 m2. However these will not apply to master planned communities approved using preliminary approvals overriding the Maroochy and Caloundra Planning Schemes. These approvals will reference the standards contained in the former Planning Schemes, and will depend on which version was referenced.
