All threaded rods are required to comply with the Timber Framing Code (AS1684) which specifies a minimum corrosion protection of 275g zinc coating per square meter (Z275).
The QBCC has advised that the rods available at some hardware shops do not comply with this minimum zinc coating requirement.
Building contractors should ensure that all materials and products for residential construction comply with relevant codes including the Australian Standards and National Construction Code.
